TOWARDS ABSTRACTION IN WATERCOLOUR - evoking reality through strong visual motifs.
Abstraction is not a style - it’s the process of removing superfluous detail through design and meaningful selection. “An eye not told what to see, sees more”. In this workshop you will learn how to develop a personal visual language and framework from which to dive confidently in and fully engage with the expressiveness of the watercolour medium. Through a series of instructor demonstrations and personal practise, you will experience the various stages of loose watercolour painting, the benefits of surprise elements and restraint in adding just enough definition to capture the viewer’s imagination.
